WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Lycoming College has signed a two-year extension with ESPN Radio affiliate 1050 AM and 104.1 FM, which provides the station broadcasting rights for the 2009-10 and 2010-11 athletic seasons. ESPN Radio recently completed its first season of broadcasting contests for a majority of the College’s 17 NCAA Division III teams. ESPN Radio carries all of the Warriors’ football and men’s basketball games as well as a majority of the women’s basketball contests. Programming includes pre- and post-game shows as well as weekly in-depth feature segments on Lycoming’s coaches and student-athletes. In addition, the station will continue to broadcast select competitions involving men’s and women’s lacrosse, soccer and swimming as well as softball, volleyball and wrestling. All of the Warriors’ ESPN Radio broadcasts are streamed online through the College’s athletics Web site (www.lycoming.edu/athletics), which allows Lycoming fans, both near and far, to follow the Warriors. The broadcasts also can be heard on www.espnwilliamsport.com. “Lycoming College is very pleased to continue its relationship with ESPN Radio,” said Jerry Rashid, director of college relations. “General Manager Todd Bartley and his staff did a great job of expanding the overall coverage of Warrior athletics this season. We look forward to building upon our affiliation.” ESPN Radio is the country's largest sports radio network, providing more than 9,000 hours of talk and event content annually to 750 stations nationwide, including the top 100 markets. “We’re ecstatic to extend this already great relationship,” said Bartley. “During our first year, the Warrior football team advanced to the NCAA playoffs and several other teams competed in their conference tournaments. We look forward to having the opportunity to broadcast Lycoming’s future accomplishments. It’s our pleasure to be associated with one of the premier Division III athletic programs in the country.” Founded in 1812 in Williamsport, Pa., Lycoming College is a national liberal arts and sciences college dedicated to the undergraduate education of more than 1,400 students.
