His 322 passing yards, albeit in a losing effort, stood as the AA state championship game record for 16 years, and his season’s passing total eclipsed 2000 yards, earning him first team all-state quarterback honors. Mark was also a pitcher/shortstop on Montoursville’s AA baseball state finalist team that same year, making him one of a rare few to ever start in two PIAA state championships games in two different sports. Even rarer still, Mark was named 1st team all-conference in three different varsity sports in the same year (football, basketball, baseball) At the collegiate level, Mark played baseball and football at Susquehanna University. A torn labrum in his throwing shoulder cut his baseball career short after just two seasons, but he still played four years of football. After moving to split end, Mark was a two year starter, catching 59 passes for over 600 yards. Mark graduated from Susquehanna with a degree in mathematics. Mark is a liscensed realtor with FISH GMAC Real Estate in Williamsport. He is married, has three children, and lives in Montoursville. Jamie SpencerJamie Spencer, who led Montoursville from the depths of zero and two-win seasons and built a solid, competitive program in his six seasons, again joins ESPN Radio this basketball season. When Spencer was hired in 2003, he inherited a program that had won two games in two seasons and was coming off an 0-24 campaign. Montoursville was a laugingstock but just three years later it was a District 4 Class AAA semifinalist. Spencer, built a solid program from top to bottom and always had his teams prepared and playing hard. Never was that more evident than in January of 2008 when Spencer took Montoursville into Williamsport and helped the Warriors pull off the biggest upset in that storied gym's history. Montoursville was undersized, vastly slower and far less talented. But it won while leading almost from start to finish. Spencer's last season may have been his best. The Warriors were ravaged by injuries and distracted by outside interference, but still were in the hunt for a playoff spot until the season's final week and defeated two of the district semifinalists while nearly upsetting Shamokin and Shikellamy, the other semifinalists.
